Donate used Tools, Computers and Sewing/Knitting Machines
Donate your unwanted hand and power tools, computer or a sewing or knitting machine
We collection across Kent or bring them to Chatham.
Please spread the word to encourage others to do the same.
These items are then refurbished at our Medway centre or at Tools with a Mission (TWAM) in Ipswich and their other branches, assembled into kits and sent to newly qualified craftspeople in Africa.
Medway Volunteer Workshop receives items from throughout Kent on behalf of Tools with a Mission.
To Donate Tools or a Sewing Machine
Tools with a Mission provide kits for newly trained motor mechanics, plumbers, electricians and carpenters, seamstresses and many more trades. Please read the Tools Wanted List. This will give you a great idea of what TWAM can and cannot use. TWAM collectors throughout Kent can pick up tools amd sewing machines from you; to arrange a collection click here.
Alternatively you can drop items off at Medway Volunteer Workshop in Chatham (mornings preferably to give us time to sort them). We're open 9-4 Monday-Friday. Please let us know you are coming: 01634 670115 or email: mvw781@gmail.com
Sometimes people donate tools that are not suitable to send to Africa, either due to their age or because they would not be used. We also have some tools donated in such quantities that we cannot use all of them. On these occasions we will attempt to sell the items to raise vital funds for our work.
We cannot accept any tools that do not have all their safety shields and other safety features intact and unbroken; please make sure the footpedal is included with any electric sewing machine. We will not utilse any equipment that endangers life; all electrical items are PAT tested.
